Cloud Cap Technology, acquired by Goodrich Corporation in May 2009, is a leader in autopilots and gyro-stabilized micro-gimbals for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). Cloud Cap’s micro-gimbal systems allow for various gimbal camera configurations, which enable users to choose the sensor technology, or combination of sensor technologies, that are best suited to the mission. Gimbal camera options include visible/EO cameras for daytime color imaging, long wave infrared (LWIR) cameras for thermal imaging, and Sensors Unlimited’s short wave infrared (SWIR) gimbal cameras for daylight to lowlight surveillance, laser tracking, beacon/marker identification, and penetration through atmospheric obscurants such as haze, fog, and dust. Certain gimbal models also offer the option for a NIR or SWIR laser pointer.
